Tablature
Tablature

Reading tablature is really simple. The lines represent the strings on your guitar. The top line being your 1st string and the bottom line being your 6th string. The numbers indicate which fret to play at.

Just imagine your guitar is facing you the way the Strat pic is facing you now.

Strat

---3-(3rd fret 1st string)-------------------------
------4-(4th fret 2nd string)---------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
-------------0-(open on the 5th string)-------
--------------------------------------------------------
That's all there is to it.

Try playing this. It's a C scale.

----------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------0---1---0----------------------------
-----------------0---2---------------2---0-------------------
-----0---2---3-------------------------------3---2---0------
-3----------------------------------------------------------3-
